Sometimes leaves are late to change because of location. In the Eastern United States, leaves begin to change earlier, right around apple picking time. In the Central United States, leaves may not change until mid-October. Does that mean we shouldn’t study leaves? No! It is the perfect opportunity to explain why leaves change. I love these books because they explain the science of seasonal change. Grab these from your favorite book seller, or order from your public library and the interlibrary load program! Best bargain of all! Then…go out and gather some leaves to study in your science center!
