Hello! Welcome to my new blog! I am loving creating posts on WordPress, and would love feedback about the overall design and layout of this new site.
I am joining Fourth Grade Frolics for this week’s Monday Made It with a tutorial on how to use Publisher to make huge wall display graphics for your new year! When you finish this tutorial, be sure to visit other blogs for tons of great “made-it” ideas!
Here is last year’s wall display! They are almost 3 feet tall and super cute! I got a lot of great compliments last year!
Here goes! You will need Microsoft Publisher to create the giant images this way.
Step 1:Â Make sure you have high resolution graphics such as these from Melonheadz or Whimsy Workshop Teaching.
Step 2: Open Publisher and go to File–New–More Blank Page Sizes–Create New Page Size. I like to use either a 24×36″ template, or a 24×24″ template, so I created a 24×36″ template for this project.
Once I had inserted the graphic, I resized it and made sure it fit inside the gray border This ensures that it will all show up and print correctly. Next, I did a Print Preview to see how many pages would be needed (it is always 12 for this size graphic).
Once it has printed on card stock, I cut next to the color on some sheets and leave the 1/8″ border on other pieces to allow them to match up fairly seamlessly, then I cut the large image out and laminate it. It may be necessary to split the image to laminate, but the effect is still pretty impressive, and the best part: You just saved over $50 on having a print shop to do it.  Fedex actually charges $72 for a big poster this size. Oh my!!!
Here is the graphic on my piano that is waiting to be laminated. If you would like to view the entire Periscope Tutorial, here it is on youtube :).

You are so welcome Susanna! I love them! I am getting real poms to put over the top of the ones you made for a 3-D effect. 😉
