One of my pet peeves is the daily spilling of the letter stamp boxes that came with our stamps. It’s one of those things that happens during transition that keeps one or two students from joining you right away at the carpet. I always end up telling students to pick up later because I need their undivided attention and presence at the group area immediately. Then, guess who gets to pick them up? Yup, you guessed it. Me. (at least at the beginning of the year, it’s me) Enter my eureka moment: Another 3 ring binder stand that can be closed for storage–never! Well, almost never :). I use binder stands for things from center rotation to table reference materials. The great thing about binders is how easy they are to store at the end of the year. This binder center can be left out all the time if you have a stamp center table, or students can carry the closed binder center to an area and use it there. I did not place a closure on the binder, but recommend hot gluing some velcro tape to the outside of the front and back to keep it closed for transporting around the room. Here is how to make it:
I used a 1.5″ binder to make mine. Dollar Tree is my very best friend when it comes to teaching supplies, I tell ya! I purchased two white ice cube trays for $1, and also the non-slip liner that the stand will be placed on to keep it at a good viewing angle for little stampin buddies. Since I do not have my stamps here at home, I used the cute clip art from Teacher Laura!
You will need to glue the ice trays to the side that has the metal binding ring bar attached to it. This way the other side (the flap)will close to fit over the trays when moving or storing the center. as I said, you need to fix a closure out of ribbon, or use a big elastic hairband…something to keep it together when it is being moved.
I love colorful scrap paper, so I plan to laminate and hot glue mine to the binder, but a colored binder would not need the paper at all if you want to go that way with it.
Here is your freebie! An insert for your center stand and a name stamping sheet š
If you enjoyed these freebies, I’d love for you to pin them! Have a great Monday!!!
