Have you ever just had one of those moments during your school day when you think, “This is the MOST precious thing EVER!!!” I have had those moments for five-six school days as I open my email to see who may have received email from Santa. If you haven’t tried this, you really should. I have a group of little believers this year who look on in wonderment as they watch their classmates’ videos from the man himself. This wonderful site really delivers! The choices for setting up the messages are brilliant, and if you choose “Improve” as a goal for the student, you can also have Santa to say, “You should try to improve your reading, writing, etc., this year. I know you can do it!” Now, I ask, WHAT is more motivational than that for a five or six year old? In addition to great content, there are at least three instances where the child’s name and photo appear. My students are awestruck. There is a naughty or nice choice, and the way the hint for better behavior is presented is sweet, and they always follow up with a positive comment. Here is the link: http://www.magicsanta.ca/homepage.html I realize that some teachers are limited for whatever reason, but wanted to share this super cute site with you! Labeling is such a great way to help kids brainstorm content to write about. Here is a little Santa Labeling activity. 🙂 Enjoy!
