As we progress through the year, I am seeing how vital it is to have conversations about vocabulary  with either a thematic topic, or a topic of the child’s choosing during writers workshop.  My students are really getting into labeling every illustration, and we are making the transition to writing the words in sentences! Can I get an “Oh Yeah!”?
