During the last two or three weeks of January our writing station activities will change to creating lists, making Valentines or notes, and addressing an envelope to “mail” in our classroom post office. My students love to find sight words in picture books, so the clipboard activity in our library station will focus on listing sight words we find in books we choose to read during our work station time. Students must reference the sight words around our room to find those words in the book, then list them only once on the form (this keeps them from copying the same word!). At the end of work time, they get to “happy”stamp each sight word they found. The form also checks for their recognition of the title of the book and the author’s name. Stay tuned for more freebies that allow students to create lists! Click on the pic to download this form.
