Hot off the presses (what else can I do with strep throat on a sick day???) is my new poetry addition to
February work stations. I wrote this poem ten or more years ago, and we even sing it to the tune of “Itsy Bitsy Spider”, or the Oscar Meyer “Bologna” song! It features pocket chart cards for matching the words in the poem, a cloze activity where students use familiar words to complete the poem, a take-it-to-your-seat page that requires students to cut the lines of the poem apart, then rearrange on colorful paper to be given to a friend, a poster for read the room, and a black/white copy for their poetry notebooks. You can grab this new seasonal activity set from my Teachers Pay Teachers, or my Teacher’s Notebook Stores!

Dear Maggie,
I really appreciate all the sweet comments you left on the blog. I am so happy you liked the presentation. That means a lot to me since I was a wreck over it. I feel like we would be teaching friends if we ever met!

You might like my winter packet on Teacher's Notebook. Some of those activities are in there because it's how I teach!

I am getting over strep, but should be rested and ready to face those little ones tomorrow. I hope you will have a lazy Sunday to recharge too! Hugs,
Maggie
