I really am trying to get in all of the holidays or commemorative days this year, so I began to think about how we might use a ship in the form of a hat to showcase our sentences with the word “have”. We have an abundance of lunch bags from previous years, and they are the right color…so after a quick lesson on how to draw ship’s planking, we set off to make ships. All that is required to make them is a black crayon, a brown crayon, and 3 to 4 staples! I cut the bottom edge off and rounded the end, then cut in to make the bow of the ship. I did not cut throught the mast in the middle to allow the ship to have another element to rest on the wearer’s head. I ended up cutting up again to form the ship’s cabin, then folded the cabin top to cut little windows. It is very simple, and turned out better than I expected! Here are two pics of the hats. It was a fun day!

So cute! Thanks for sharing! 🙂
