I accompanied both Junior High and High School soloists and choirs at District, then State Contest, gave lots of Progress Monitoring tests, gave Benchmark tests to the entire class, had another grandson, born April 28–thankfully, he is healthy after a rocky start, and I somehow managed to end school, organize my room for next year, and finally be at home with my precious bulldogs, Mozart and Olivia, and enjoy reading blogs! Oh, did I mention that our Serta mattress was a dud after only 10 months of sleeping on it? We are testing a memory foam mattress now. I must say it is growing on me, but it still seems firm!
My plans for next year include beginning with an ocean unit, and keep my cute Cap’n Jack’s Reading Shack for our reading corner. I have loads of new ideas from Mrs. Jump and other ocean “artists”, and Mrs. Deedee has given me much to think about and plan for with her Math Station Party (be sure to check out her blog for ideas on how to implement Debbie Diller’s Math Stations.
I hate to admit it, but my mantra is “let the spending for school begin”! I found some really cute striped sheets to change up my closet curtains this year. They were at Walmart, and they were quite a bargain. The pillow cases will be put on large pillows in our reading shack along with our little reading pals (a discovery from last summer–someone sold their multicultural puppets with velcro hands). Here is a link to the sheets I bought:
Moze and Ollie will be playing early each day due to the heat wave we are having! Here is a vid from a couple of days ago…
