Our class arrived at school today to find our room in disarray. Apparently, a leprechaun had been to our room looking for his pot of gold. When he didn’t find it he played a trick on our class! Things were upside-down, out of place, and very messy. He took all of our magnetic sight words and threw them all over the room, and he hung our poor Mr. Sea Dragon upside-down from the door frame! During the morning hours we discussed how many things had been changed (and where)…then we made magic sight words appear with Heidi’s shamrock worksheet (we painted green water color paint on the shamrocks–white crayon words appeared as if by magic). Later on we watched a great Rankin-Bass Leprechaun story. We set a trap for the leprechaun before lunch, and when we got back from recess, he had taken the bait and left gold coins for everyone. He even had a message for us on the teacher’s laptop computer! Here is a link to the sound file: http://maggieskindercorner.com/melissaleprechaun.wma
Here are a few photos of our day 🙂
Thank you to all of the parents who have provided snacks in the past few days!
